Why I Write About What Works

I'm Mia Hudson, and I spend my time doing two things that overlap more than you'd think: writing and analysis. Most mornings, I'm knee-deep in spreadsheets or field reports before I draft a single sentence. That prep work matters—it's how I know whether an idea actually holds up or just sounds good on paper.

My focus is environmental conservation, particularly the work regional conservation authorities do across Ontario. I'm drawn to the questions that don't have easy answers: how policy translates to practice, what makes one restoration project succeed while another stalls, and how communities shape the landscapes they depend on.
